On Journalist’s Day we remember journalist Alfredo Le Pera, on the day of his birth.
We invite you to participate on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 12 to 3 p.m., in the announcement and global launch of the LE PERA POETA DE GARDEL project, in the program «Conexión de Tango» hosted by Paula Stercezk, on radio La 2× 4 – 92.7FM, https://buenosaires.gob.ar/medios/la-2×4, from the Casa Carlos Gardel Museum, Jean Jaures 735 CABA.
As of June 7, 2025 will be the 125th anniversary of the birth of Alfredo Le Pera, film producers, TV streaming and journalists together with great international tango referents, we created the project LE PERA POETA DE GARDEL to inspire 125 autonomous and diverse tributes to be carried out around the world that will be widely publicized, counting on your support.
The outstanding poet, journalist, theatrical and cinematographic author Alfredo Le Pera created the scripts of the 7 successful films they made with Paramount Pictures, between 1932 and 1935. With his poems they created the 30 memorable compositions that Gardel sings in his films, which are part of the soundtracks of 92 other films from 1960 to 2023, and which continue to be enjoyed around the world to this day. www.imdb.com
On the site https://leperapoetadegardel.org/ and on social media we are preparing an online platform to publish all the information of the 125 tributes that will take place around the world. For example, artists and dancers will be able to send their videos with Gardel and Le Pera’s compositions.
We are also working towards a film, theater and TV shows where each composition would be performed by dancers from/in the cities where Carlos Gardel lived and toured. Between each dance there will be stretches of interviews with artists and world referents, about his work and life.
